World AIDS Day, 1st December, is an opportunity for us all to unite in the fight against HIV & AIDS and VMFC will be playing a supporting role by teaming up with the LGF and Operation Fundraiser in their quest to raise awareness in the North West up to and beyond one of the most important dates in the calendar.

The club will be supporting many initiatives which include, a special clinic for sexual health screenings by LGF (Thu 30th Nov), World Aids Day Vigil in Sackville Gardens organised by George House Trust (Friday 1st Dec), a stall at the European Market outside Manchester Town Hall on Albert Square (1-3rd Dec) and an event at Manchester City FC (TBC) to raise awareness and fundraise.

LGF Communications manager Andrew Gilliver said "1st December gives us all an opportunity to concentrate our focus on the ignorance and prejudice that is fuelling the spread of a preventable disease. Its not just about one single date, throughout the year somebody in the UK is diagnosed with HIV every 90 Minutes and World AIDS Day helps remind us all of the important issues and to get people talking about HIV and AIDS".
