The lads from Village Manchester FC will be swapping their ball skills for their brain skills as they take on the legendary quiz goliaths The Eggheads.

As part of the clubs attempts to raise funds to help pay for travel expenses to compete in the 2007 Gay Football World Cup being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, six of the clubs players have made the trip to BBC Television Centre in London to try and scoop the jackpot cash prize!

VMFC's Jason McAuley said, "to say we are underdogs would be an understatement, their team includes the current Brain of Britain, a Who wants to be a Millionaire winner, a 15 to 1 champion and a winner of the Weakest Link all in the same team...and we have...erm, a bunch of gay footballers! He added, "but we're going to travel down and give it our best shot for Manchester, enjoy the experience and with a large portion of luck, just might win that jackpot which will go a long way to helping us get to Argentina".

Make sure you tune in to cheer on the lads as they go head to head with The Eggheads, 6pm, BBC2, Monday 30 April.
