After a rollercoaster ride of a season, Village Manchester FC have delivered their second trophy in successive seasons by being crowned Manchester Accountants League Champions for the first time in their 16 year history.

The club was promoted into the Premier division only 3 seasons ago and after a first season spent adapting to the higher standard of the league, the club has gone from strength to strength and have now followed up last years League Cup win with the big prize by becoming League Champions.

First Team Manager Stu Butters was clearly delighted with the ground breaking season, "it's been far from a text book season and at times it's felt like being a guest on the Jerry Springer show!, but we always knew we had players with the character to take us close and when we needed to grind out results at crucial times we did it better than anyone. The added help of a bit of luck you need at the right time also contributed" he added "right now it's all about enjoying the moment, but defending our title next season will be extremely tough and players will need to ask themselves if they are prepared to move up a gear or two...if they do, I have no doubt we have it in us to repeat this years achievement".

The club is now looking forward to celebrating in style at their annual awards night on 11th May and after a short break (a small matter of the Champions League Final to watch), will continue with training every Wednesday evening before beginning pre-season training each Sunday afternoon in June which is a great opportunity for any new players to come along and get involved and will also help in preparation for next season and the trip to Argentina in September.
