Now regular attendees at the annual Manchester Pride Parade, Village FC were represented over the August Bank holiday weekend by numerous players with our very own gay-lympic flag carrier and 2nd team captain Rob McPherson leading the way. Debut appearances for Lee, Craig, Simon, Stephen and Tom who were all a bit nervous at the beginning but as soon as the parade began they were lapping up the attention and wolf whistles from the adoring spectators!

The club also had a presence through the weekend at the Lifestyle Expo and thanks to all of you who took the time to visit us and register for our monthly e-newsletter. Thanks also to all players and club members who kindly gave up their time over the weekend to take part in the parade and make sure the Expo stall was manned for the weekend.

Rounding a great weekend was the bonus that we also seemed to have picked up a couple of leggy centre forwards (pictured at either end of the group photo) so 1st team manager Antony Lockley will be watching their progress in training with great interest in the coming week to see if they are worthy of a place in the team come the first game of the season against South Manchester on Sunday 31st August.
