Village Manchester's second team head into November's fixtures in positive mood following an encouraging start to the 2013/2014 season.

Wins over Real Mancs in the league and Newcastle Panthers in the GFSN Cup saw the team start the season in impressive style.

 

A disappointing display against Audenshaw in their third league fixture tempered things a little but they got their form back on track and obtained a draw against AFC Stockport. Their final game of October saw them come up against Everything You Need FC and a confident performance saw them run out 3-1 winners.

 

A points tally of 7 from 12 is a commendable start from the team and they sit comfortably in the top half of the table.

 

The points tally is not the only positive thing to come from the team's opening fixtures.

 

There have been a number of impressive debuts - notably from James Stevens and Chris Mahon - and the introduction of other new players such as Luke Dornan, Tom Slater, Panos Papademetriou and Mark Ranson has seen competition for places soar.

 

This is all in addition to the tireless work done by the 'stalwarts' of the team - Johnathan Findlay, Pete Edwards, Alex Feis-Bryce, Ryan Mullender, Steven Holmes, Jordan Langford, Jeremy Baker and Rob McPherson. With a number of first team players gallantly making themselves available for two games in a day, manager Hall has reason to be optimistic ahead of the Winter period.

 

With a GFSN Cup Quarter Final game coming up at the end of the month Village will be looking to boast a great vein of form in the run up. They start the month's fixtures against Manchester Club Football then face a couple of the pacesetters in the following games.
