3 June 2014

Village Manchester are taking part in the Unity Cup which takes place in Cardiff later this month.

The competition, which will be played at the Pontcanna Playing Fields, runs from 12-15 June and will see the club come up against teams from London, Cardiff and Paris.

The Cup is being held as part of Cardiff's hosting of the European City of Sport. Host team Cardiff Dragons will welcome clubs to south Wales on Thursday 12 June as the opening ceremony, tournament draw and a social event takes place with the football happening on the Friday and Saturday.

Village Manchester will be taking part in the 11-a-side competition alongside Cardiff Dragons, Cardiff Phoenix, London Titans and Paris Arc En Ciel.

There is also a smaller sided tournament which a number of other GFSN teams have confirmed to take part in.

Trips to Cardiff have been few and far between for Village as the clubs have rarely crossed paths in tournaments or in the GFSN Cup. But with a European title to our name following our last trip abroad (thanks Dublin!), Village will be travelling down south with a lot of hope, optimism and confidence.
