VMFC takes to the skies

VMFC at the opening ceremony of the EuroGames in Stockholm in 2015

Village Manchester are excited to be taking part in competitions in Miami and Paris over the next couple of years.

In May this year Village Manchester are travelling to America for the World OutGames in Florida's southeastern city, Miami. The squad, which welcomes players from a number of other British gay football clubs including Soho FC, will take their place in the opening ceremony on Saturday 27 May before getting the action underway on the pitch the following day. The tournament finishes on Saturday 3 June and concludes with a closing ceremony. Following the tournament, players will be relaxing their aching bones as they head off in a few different directions for the rest of their holiday.

In 2018 the club is travelling to the French capital Paris to take part in the Gay Games 10. The tournament takes place from 4-12 August and Village Manchester are aiming to take two teams to make it one of the best attended international competitions the club has been to. We were excited this month to attend a reception held for the Paris organisers by the Lord Mayor of Manchester and our Paris 2018 team is already in double figures, 18 months before the event.
